The Oxnard College women's soccer team limped to the final whistle. Literally.
The Condors (3-15-1) did not have enough healthy players to contest
their season finale Tuesday against WSC North champion Moorpark
because of a flurry of concussions, sprained ankles and knee ligament
tears.
"I know that's not the best way to (end a season)," said Oxnard
athletic director Jonas Crawford. "They're the walking wounded. We
have maybe 10 healthy players."
It should be noted that Oxnard did not forfeit a WSC North contest.
The two teams had already played their two conference matches. A
third, non-conference match was added when West Los Angeles dropped
its women's program in September.
