Santa Barbara City College, ranked No. 6 in the nation, dealt the Moorpark College women's soccer team an early conference blow Tuesday, 3-0.

Moorpark High product Laura Spivack, Kila MacNaughton and Chelsea Nielsen scored for Santa Barbara (6-0-4).

It took the Vaqueros 136 minutes to score against Moorpark last year. This year, with nine starters returning, it took barely 120 seconds as Moorpark High product Laura Spivack opened the scoring before the teams had broken a sweat.

"We were just overshadowed, technically and physically," said Moorpark coach Eric Privat. "It was one of those days when whatever we did didn't work."
