Moorpark College athletic trainer Vance Manakae has been plenty busy this fall dealing with the football team's injury situation, including an incredible eight shoulder injuries.

"We've had a combination of separations and dislocations," said Manakae. "We've had one surgery already (cornerback Evan Yabu)."

The rash of bum shoulders has hit the Raiders across the roster, including star running back Dan Mosier, who was leading the state in rushing before his injury, and a series of linebackers.

"It's the Year of the Shoulder," said Manakae. "But we should be healthy by the time we go to Canyons, as long as we don't pick up any more injuries in practice."
