Ventura College freshman Victor Caro and Jordan Howard were both selected to the All-California Region IV offense when the California Community College Football Coaches' Association released its All-American teams this week.
Caro, a freshman from Nashville, Tenn., finished third in Southern California in yards per carry, averaging 6.7 yards per carry for the 7-4 Pirates. He ran for 675 yards and three touchdowns on just 101 carries.
Howard, a freshman from Pensacola, Fla., was fifth in kickoff returning (29.6 yards per return) and sixth in punt returning (11.7 ypr). He also played full-time at cornerback and is expected to play some receiver as a sophomore.
"Our region is the toughest in the whole state of California to make," said Ventura coach Steve Mooshagian. "In our region, we've got the Top 12 teams in Southern California. That's usually the top players. To have two players, two freshman, on this team is really outstanding."
