It's a case of who's in and who's not in this week's CIF football rankings.

While Westlake and St. Bonaventure find themselves in familiar  territory at the top of the Northern Division poll, one distinctly unfamiliar name receiving votes was Calabasas, which ended a nine-game losing streak with a win in its opener.

Nordhoff is ranked No. 2 in the Northwest Division behind top seed Templeton.

No Channel League or Pacific View League team made the top 10 of the Western Division.

Absent from the East Valley Division rankings was a Frontier League team.

Two seasons ago, Channel Islands was winless. From 2006-08, the Raiders' football team lost 17 straight games.

Hueneme did not win a game in 2008 and scored just 64 points.

On Monday, the two Pacific View League teams were ranked among the top 10 football  programs in the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division.

Both off to 4-0 starts, Channel Islands and Hueneme were ranked No. 8 and No. 9, respectively.

Seven Ventura County schools made the list: 1. St. Bonaventure, 2. Moorpark, 4. Westlake, 5. Newbury Park, 6. Oxnard.

St. Bonaventure and Oaks Christian are ranked No. 1 in the Northern and Northwest Divisions, respectively, in the CIF-Southern Section preseason football polls.

Besides defending champion St. Bonaventure, other Ventura County schools ranked in the Northern Division are: 3. Moorpark, 6. Westlake, 7. Newbury Park and 9. Oxnard. Thousand Oaks, Pacifica, Ventura and Agoura also received votes.

Oaks Christian was the only area team to make the Northwest top 10. Also mentioned were: Santa Clara, Nordhoff and Carpinteria.

In the East Valley division, Fillmore is ranked No. 5. Defending Frontier League champion Santa Paula also received votes
