Westlake 49, Ventura 27
Westlake's first-string offense scored on all seven possessions and improves to 11-0. Westlake will take on Hueneme next week in the quarterfinals. Ventura took an early lead when they converted two-straight on-side kick attempts.
Hueneme 23, Hart 15
Hueneme wins in its first playoff game since 2003. Trashaun Nixon ran for two touchdowns.
St. Bonaventure 35, Oxnard 7
St. Bonaventure advances to face Newbury Park.
Newbury Park 29, Righetti 27
Kevin Kirchner's 43-yard field goal with 30 seconds left put Newbury Park ahead. Newbury Park had led 26-7, but Righetti came back, scoring the go-ahead touchdown with 4:45 left on a 75-yard interception return. Newbury Park quarterback Jake Geringer set up the game-winning kick by finding senior Christian Hutchins across the middle for a 10-yard gain on third-and-19.
Moorpark 30, Canyon 0
Moorpark advances to play Camarillo next week. Moorpark held Canyon to just 51 yards of total offense in the first half and 158 for the game. Austin Edmonson and Tyler Peterson each had two touchdown runs.
Camarillo 35, Arroyo Grande 7
Jeff Mathews was 24 of 33 for 342 yards passing and four touchdowns, three of them to receiver Chase Tackett, who finished with seven catches for 112 yards.
Buena 41, Atascadero 14
Buena scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away and advance to face Valencia in the quarterfinals. Buena's defense turned two Atascadero turnovers into touchdowns in the school's first playoff win since 2002.
Valencia 28, Thousand Oaks 27
Thousand Oaks scored a touchdown with 28 seconds left to pull within 28-27 and opted to go for the two-point coversion, which was not successful. Thousand Oaks then converted the on-side kick attempt but could not get into field-goal range. Backup quarterback Jackson Lucht played the second half after Avondre Bollar left the game due to an injury, and helped lead the comeback after Thousand Oaks trailed 28-7.
Northwest Division
Oaks Christian 70, Santa Ynez 14
Oaks Christian wins its 32nd-straight game and advances to play Harvard-Westlake. UCLA-bound Malcolm Jones ran for 280 yards on nine carries.
El Segundo 24, Nordhoff 7
Nordhoff limited El Segundo to 139 total yards and five first downs, but committed six turnovers.
Serra 54, Oak Park 6
Serra was able to take advantage of four interceptions and a fumble recovery, all in the first half, to build a 48-0 halftime lead.
East Valley Division
Fillmore 41, Yucca Valley 14
Fillmore advances to play Bishop Union in the quarterfinals and has won six games in a row. Nick Paz ran for four touchdowns.
Grace Brethren 20, Sage Hill 17
Grace Brethren trailed 17-6 at halftime before coming back to win. Grace Brethren advances to play Oak Hills in the quarterfinals.
St. Margaret's 33, Santa Paula 6
Santa Paula finishes 6-5 and trailed only 13-6 at halftime. St. Margaret's is the defending state small schools champions and has won 64 of its last 66 games.
