For the first time since 1992, Ventura has won a CIF dual meet wrestling championship.
Ventura, 18-0, stunned 11-time section champion and No. 1 seed Santa Ana, 45-28, in the Division IV final Saturday at El Cajon.
The Cougars piled it on early, sweeping to a 36-0 lead after the first seven matches and coasted home for the title.
In the semifinals, Ventura beat Bishop Amat, 33-31.
Ventura has lost only one dual meet in the last two years.
