In two years in Ventura, Wyers has helped Ventura to 50 wins and a pair of Western State Conference titles.
Wyers said assistant coach Dan Placial will remain with the program. He has also spoken to former Ventura guard Andre Jamerson about a potential role with the Wildcats.
Wyers will remain at Ventura, which isn't without precedent. Oxnard College men's basketball assistant Jeff Perrault also coached at Thousand Oaks High last season.

Santa Paula handed Fillmore its first Frontier League boys' basketball loss of the season Friday night. Anthony Del Rio and Andrew Jimenez had 13 points each as Santa Paula won 57-53 at home.
With its 57-32 win over Bishop Diego on the road, Nordhoff moved into a tie with Fillmore with 5-1 league records. Santa Paula, which was 1-16 in non-league games, is 4-2 in the Frontier.
Villanova (3-3 league) remains in the hunt after beating Grace Brethren.

Nordhoff have become Division IV-A girls' volleyball powers this fall
as members of the Frontier League.
Grace
Brethren and Nordhoff are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in this
week's CIF-Southern Section Division IV-A poll, which was released on
Monday. Fellow Frontier League school Villanova is ranked No. 10.
