Channel Islands and Rio Mesa will play an All-Oxnard CIF soccer final Saturday as the two teams win Tuesday. Meanwhile, the St. Bonaventure boys and Oaks Christian girls were eliminated.

Steven Trujillo scored the game¹s only goal in the
77th minute off an assist by Julian Laria. Nick Harrison had a key pass to
set up Laria¹s assist.

Division II

Ventura 3, Palos Verdes 2: Adrew Creightion,James Greider and Able Tadeo scored.

Division IV

No. 1 Channel Islands 5, Burbank 2: Jesus Landeros and David Torres had a goal and an assist apiece.  Miguel Rico, Salvador Mendoza and Josh Vasquez rounded out the scoring.
Rio Mesa 3, Pasadena 1: Jerry Ponce scored in the 16th and 75th minutes and Javier Marquez scored the game winner, off an assist from Dustin Figueroa, in the 60th minute.
North Torrance 3, Oxnard 1: Hugo Rosales scored in the first half off an assist by
Edson Flores. North Torrance scored all of its goals in the second half.

Division VI

Nordhoff 3, Shalhevet 0: Moustafa Ismail scored two goals and Keiko David had
two assists. Bruce Vargas scored a goal and Jorge Reyes had an assist.

Pacifica and Channel Islands roll in PVL boys soccer

The Channel Islands and Pacifica High boys' soccer teams improved to 5-1 in Pacific View League play Tuesday afternoon.

Luis Hernandez scored twice, David Torres had a goal and an assist and Miguel Tellez had two assists as the Channel Islands (12-2-3) scored three second-half goals to avenge its only PVL loss of the season, 3-0, over visiting Rio Mesa (8-5-3, 2-4) Tuesday afternoon.

Rogelio Salinas and Raul Yepez scored first-half goals as Pacifica (15-4-1) eased by host Camarillo, 2-0.

Moises Orozco scored twice and Andres Negrette added another as Oxnard (6-3, 4-2) stayed a game back by scoring three times in the final 15 minutes with a 3-2 win over Hueneme, which led 2-0 midway through the second half.

Ventura, St. Bonaventure boys soccer still front running

Abel Tadeo set up Sal Mora for the opening goal and multisport star Kory Kindle converted Kevin Tanner's throw-in for the game-winning goal as visiting Ventura High boys' soccer team (16-3-3) beat Dos Pueblos to improve to 4-0-1 in the Channel League Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half, Aaron Glover broke the game open with two goals in a six-minute span and Derek Kirk added a goal and an assist as the St. Bonaventure High boys' soccer (11-5-1) team improved to 4-0 in Frontier League play with a 3-0 win over visiting Santa Clara Tuesday.

Espinoza's late winner keeps Pacifica on top with Oxnard

Omar Espinoza poked home a loose ball off a corner kick in the final minute as the Pacifica High boys soccer team improved to 2-0 in Pacific View League play with a 3-2 win over visiting Rio Mesa Tuesday afternoon.

A pair of Jerry Ponce 12th and 13th goals of the season had pushed the Spartans (7-2-3) within moments of surviving an opening gaunlet of Channel Islands (8-2-3) and Pacifica (12-3-1) undefeated.

Elsewhere in the PVL, Jose Nuno scored in the 67 th minute to push Channel Islands past Hueneme, 1-0, and goals by Ignacio Coronel and Moises Orozco led Oxnard over Camarillo 2-0.

Rivera's late goal boosts Camarillo boys to first win

Ricardo Rivera last-minute goal from from Brandon Davis pushed the Camarillo High boys' soccer team to its first win of the season, 1-0, over St. Bonaventure Tuesday afternoon.

After Davis played a through ball from midfield, Rivera struck a shot from just outside the 18-yard box into the lower left corner. Robert Thomas recorded his second shutout in goal for 1-9-1 Camarillo

St. Bonaventure fell to 6-5-1.

Ivan Sanchez set up Jose Nuno's goal as the host Channel Islands High boys' soccer team improved to 4-0-2 with a 1-0 win over Malibu Tuesday afternoon.

Down 2-0 inside 15 minutes, the Pacifica High boys' soccer team (4-0) needed a hat trick from senior Raul Yepez to stay unbeaten.

Omar Espinosa, Adolfo Varga and Edel Rivera picked up assists and goalkeeper Jose Villalobos also saved a penalty kick in Pacifica's 3-2 win over Carpenteria.

Also,Monique Orocio scored twice and high-flying Yadira Toraya scored her sixth goal in five matches as the Pacifica High girls' soccer team improved to 4-1 with a 4-2 win over Santa Paula (4-1).

Santa Paula senior Maricruz Magana set up younger sister and freshman Lupita Magana to give the Cardinals the lead after 10 minutes.

Oaks Christian tops Buena girls' soccer

In a season-opening meeting of two of the area's most successful girls' soccer programs in recent years, Oaks Christian overcame an early deficit to defeat Buena, 3-1, Tuesday afternoon in Westlake Village.

The Lions scored three times after Megan Erskine set up Marissa Campos' 18th-minute opener for Buena.

Kelly Johnson set up both Kaycee Buckley's equalizer in the 32nd minute and Ali Courtnall's leader 26 minutes later. Lauren Lindstrom also scored from 40 yards on a free kick.

Toraya picks up where she left off

Yadira Toraya, who scored 22 goals as a junior, picked up where she left off for the Pacifica High girls' soccer team Tuesday.

Toraya scored twice in the Triton's season-opening 2-0 win over San Marcos.
