We covered the Loma Fire today, a 50 acre brush fire that went up and over Camarillo Heights into Somis. When I got up at the fire line, I felt bad for the many frightened rabbits, some of which were pink from the aerial fire retardant drops. This rabbit was still dry but quite confused with the fire hissing from almost every direction.  I ended up running away when the wind picked up and pushed the fire our way.  I went back in few minutes later hoping the rabbits had bolted from the area as well.
