Embarking on a simulated pre-honeymoon but also a singing vacation/job, singer-songwriter Cory Branan will make his debut at Zoey's in Ventura Friday as he tries to sell a few copies of his third and latest album, "Mutt." Rock 'n' Roll Call: Cory Branan - Mutt

Cory Branan is probably a dog person - his latest is "Mutt" and it's on Bloodshot Records. He's an alt country, Americana kind of guy, now and again channeling Bruce Springsteen and other times, Tom Waits. This is the Mississippi guy's first one new one in six years and if you don't like one song - wait a minute. I like "Survivor Blues" and "Karen's Song" is the rocker. He's coming to Zoey's early in July - I think Branan might be really good live.
