The new one from Father John Misty is "Fear Fun" and it's on Sub Pop. Father John has one speed and if he was playing on the deck of the consul's ship, Ben Hur down below would be pleased to hear it's not "ramming speed!" In any case FJM is Josh Tillman who used to be the bored drummer of the Fleet Foxes, so he lit out on his own. The elaborate packaging on this album screams one thing - this dude has too much money already. Most of the songs don't do much or make you want to hear them again, the exception being the amusing "I'm Writing A Novel," the rumored night job of three quarters of the people in Hollyweird - a place where people from Iowa mistake each other for movie stars. As is often the case, needs better songs...
