My new favorite band just might be the Barbaras - a past tense groovy bar band that had a relatively short shelf life from 2006 to 2008 in Memphis - the album is called "The Barbaras 2006-2008" and it's on Goner Records. There's lots of old school AM radio rock made new for the new millennium with some Everly Brothers, some doo-wop on nitrous or maybe it's that Del Shannon falsetto influence. In any case, these guys would be like gods in the early '60s - Randy & the Rainbows would open for them.
