The new one by the Dandy Warhols is "This Machine" and it's on The End Records. This is the Dandy's best one since "13 Tales of Urban Bohemia," from 2000 and still the best album of the new millennium. The catchy propulsive rockers such as "Sad Cafe," the speeding ticket-inducing instrumental "Alternative Power to the People" and "Don't Shoot She Cried" are perfect examples of so-called alternative/college/indie rock. Frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor adds his usual ingredients of stoner pop, psychedelia and shoe-gazer touches and his whispery vocals add a new dimension to the Tennessee Ernie Ford classic, "16 Tons." The band's fame is already assured - check out the rockumentary of all time, "Dig!" and the band does the theme for "Mythbusters." If you listen to the Dandys for an extended period, you may flunk the drug test at work.
