Big hair? Check. Big voice? Certainly. Big deal? To the millions who bought Taylor Dayne records over the years, you betcha. The vehicle for that hair and voice, a fixture on the dance charts in the late '80s and early '90s, will roll into the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza for a Saturday night performance.Saturday's show, "Tell It to My Heart: Up Close and Personal with Taylor Dayne," directed by Steve Rothman, is a concert along with an opportunity for Dayne to talk candidly about her trials and triumphs as a pop star. "Star Search" winning singer Jake Simpson will provide backup vocals.
Like hitting a home run in your first major league at bat, Dayne's debut album, "Tell It to My Heart," went to No. 1 -- in fact, Dayne's first three albums were all huge hits and she has released nine Top 20 hits, sold more than 75 million units and earned three Grammy nominations. Her most recent album, from 2008, is "Satisfied." Her latest hit is "Floor on Fire," which reached No. 7 on Billboard's dance chart last fall. Read more »
