I spoke to seven of the Great Eight head coaches to compile my preview capsules.
The North's No. 2 seed is one of the tournament's favorites, Fresno City.

- Great Eight history: Second appearance.
- Note: Gipson and House are second in the state in field goal percentage (65.5) and assists per game (7.1), respectively.
- Strengths: Talent. Offensive system. Inside game. Decision-making on perimeter.
- Weaknesses: Defense. Road.
- Tessler says: “The winner of our game (with Ventura)... won't be afriad of Mount SAC."
- Scouts say: “They’re the best offensive team in the group. They overwhelm you with intelligence, floor spacing and shot selection… by moving chess pieces to keep you at a disadvantage.
- Outlook: The tournament’s second favorite is full of confidence, but the Rams probably face the two teams that beat them this season in the first two rounds.
