With Thousand Oaks' Ben Olson on the shelf for at least five games, UCLA has named former San Diego State and Mount San Antonio College quarterback Kevin Craft its starting quarterbackfor its season opener Sept. 1 against Tennessee.

It seems Craft had a better grasp of the offense at this early date than freshman Chris Forcier.

"He's earned it with his consistent play and he has the best mastery of the offense at this point," head coach Rick Neuheisel said of Craft Monday.
