The Moorpark College football team's season-opening 28-17 win at Los Angeles Pierce Saturday was dulled by an injury to one of its brightest freshmen.
Evan Yabu, a freshman from Thousand Oaks High, separated his shoulder after starting Saturday's game at cornerback.
"That was the only negative on the game," said Moorpark coach Jim Bittner, who didn't know when or if Yabu would return this season.
