With its 1-0 victory over Santa Barbara City Friday, the Ventura College women's soccer team not only took over first place in the WSC North, it replaced Santa Barbara as the No. 7-ranked team in the NSCAA's national poll.

Santa Barbara City (9-1-4) fell to No. 11.

The Pirates (11-1-3), who have also risen to No. 2 in the statewide power ranking, extended their 11-game unbeaten streak with a 5-0 win over Cuesta Tuesday. Jazmarae Strozier and Alyssa McDonald, who sit first and second in the WSC in scoring, found the net for the 14th and 13th times, respectively, this season.
