Rather than the two superstar tandem of Jazlyn Davis and Carmen Deal, who combined for 35.4 points and 15.1 rebounds per game last season, the No. 1-ranked Mount San Antonio College women's basketball team features a balanced team this season, including Oxnard High product Jordan Kuzma, who averaging 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

"They look excellent," said Ventura College coach Ned Mircetic. "People are saying that they're not as good as last year, but I don't see much drop off. What they don't have is the two superstars they had last year. They have much more balance this year. They have about eight or nine excellent players."

"They're a formidable opponent and will be formidable for everyone this year."

Three-time defending state champion Mount SAC has won 45 straight games, perhaps a state record. The Mounties survived No. 11 Canyons in Saturday's semifinals, 70-68.
