The Ventura College men's basketball team handed Moorpark a 78-52 WSC North loss Saturday night at the VC Athletic Event Center.

The 26-point margin was the Pirates biggest win in the cross-county rivalry in 18 meetings, since a 100-64 win in Feb. 1997.

The Pirates lead the 33-year-old series, 52-32.

Moorpark shot 28.3 percent from the field (17-of-60 shooting, which included a decent 9 of 30 from 3-point land) and was held to 52 points.

The 52 points are the least mustered by the Raiders in a game since March 6, 2000, the heralded Moorpark 46-42 state quarterfinal victory over state Player of the Year Phil Ricce and San Joaquin Delta.

Moorpark played 255 basketball games over the nearly nine-year span.

Moorpark athletic director Howard Davis was the assistant coach in 1999-00. Moorpark assistant coach Kenny Plummer was a sophomore forward on that team.

Considering you've posted as "Video Man," "Ringer," "OCC_27," "jginn," "Kat Mandoo," and "Robin Calote" knowing that at least three of those are user names at JCScores.com, I'd appreciate it if you'd stick to one user name.

I would like to use my last name as my screen name. Is there is reason I cannot

The rout was a good thing. Rout is a good word for headlines
