-- Danny Benson had a team-high 16 points, Prince Abidoye had 14 points and Eric Gray and Randy hunter added 11 points apiece as Ventura moved within a half game of first place. Santa Barbara's David Lane had 26 points, but Ventura held Mark Keeten to 0 points.
-- An 8-2 Ventura run, two Benson free throws, a Harris finish from Benson's bounce pass and Benson's finish from Harris' steal, pushes Ventura ahead 81-68 with 3:19 to play.
-- Brandon Greene hits back-to-back 3-pointer to pull Santa Barbara within 68-64 with seven minutes to play.
-- Santa Barbara's 8-0 run pulls it within 66-56 with 10 minutes to play, until Will Faiivae's monster follow dunk brings the visiting fans to their feet.
