Ventura College men's basketball coach Ned Mircetic on the Pirates' 69-57 win over Pierce.

"The game was a little sloppy, except for a three-minute span in the second half when we played really good basketball... We just executed everything and pulled away. We played all right.

"Pinkard did a really nice job executing the offense.

"We just didn't play with energy the whole game. When we did, we looked like a really good basketball team, firing on all cylinders.

"The challenge for us is going to be putting together a whole game where we really get after it."
