No. 2 Orange Coast completed its two-game sweep of No. 15 Ventura College with a 1-0 win in 10 innings Saturday afternoon in Costa Mesa.

Ventura star Garrett Rau threw nine shutout innings before allowing a solo home run in the top of the 10th inning.

It's the third time in four years that the Pirates have reached the second round of the playoffs only to be eliminated by the Orange Empire Conference champion. Ventura fell to top-seed Santa Ana in 2006 and 2008.

Ventura finishes its season 26-18.
