The Moorpark College men's basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped by defending state champion Riverside, 84-57, in the final of the Rancho Vista Shootout Sunday night in Lancaster.

All-tournament selections Dallas Rutherford and Mike Meza had 23 and eight points, respectively.

Moorpark (4-4) was within 34-29 in the final minute of the first half, but were outscored 50-28 the rest of the way.

"It's a lot of minutes for our guys in three days," said Moorpark coach Remy McCarthy, who sat out the game after being ejected Saturday night. "But it was a valiant effort."
