The Moorpark College men's basketball team trails defending state champion Riverside 37-29 at the half in the final of the Rancho Vista Shootout at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster.

Dallas Rutherford has 12 points on 4 of 8 shooting. Mike Meza and Matt Mazarei have seven points apiece.

Riverside, which used a 18-7 run to take a 22-13 lead midway through the half, is led by 12 points and six rebounds by Donovan Buford.

Moorpark missed a 3 to pull within two points just before halftime.
