Round 8 of WSC North basketball arrives today with women's and men's doubleheaders in Moorpark, Woodland Hills and Santa Maria.

Women's scores, Jan. 30
Santa Barbara City 70, Moorpark 64 FINAL Dee Kapil had 20 points and Reyneisha Mays had 11 points for Moorpark. Jake Kelly had 25 points and Francesca DeAngelis had 23 points, including six in the final minute, for SBCC. the game was tied 63-63 entering the final minute.
Ventura 73, Hancock 31 FINAL Chanelle Brennan had 18 poits, 7 reboundss; Amanda Padilla had 16 points, 7 assists; Kris King had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks; Erika Ward had 10 points, 3 steals. Brenda Van Someren had 8 points and 7 rebounds and Suzie Faanono and Jordan Clegg had 7 rebs each for Ventura.

Men's schedule, Jan. 30
Moorpark 98, Santa Barbara City 93 FINAL (OT) Mike Meza had 27 points on 8-of-11 shooting and forced overtime with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer and Kyle Olandt had 22 points. Spencer Schulte had 17 points, Dallas Rutherford had 12 points and Wendell Antoine had six points and eight rebounds. Daniel Koches scored 27 points and Lucky Teeguarden scored 17 points for Santa Barbara which frustrated Moorpark throughout regulation.
Ventura 87, Hancock 70 FINAL Ventura wins behind 25 pts from Pierce Brooks, 18 pts from Jeremiah Slowik and 13 pts and 14 rebs from Mike Melonas.
Cuesta 70, Los Angeles Pierce 58 FINAL Cuesta wins the first-place showdown to improve to 6-1 in WSC North play.
