Ventura College defensive end Jon Lattimore was honored as Northern Conference defensive Player of the Week Tuesday.

Despite being matched up against Cerritos preseason All-American tackle Fou Fonoti, sophomore from Lexington, N.C. had five tackles, including three for losses, two sacks, a fumble recovery and four hurries in Saturday's 28-21 win at Cerritos.

Trailing by 7, the Falcons took over on the Pirates' 23 with 1:14 to play, but Lattimore spurred the turnover on downs with a pair of sacks, including one to seal the win on fourth down.
