Ventura College sophomore Mike Melonas was honored as this week's WSC North men's basketball Player of the Week.

Melonas, the 6-foot-7 sophomore center from Ventura High, had 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in the Pirates 78-68 win over rival Moorpark on Jan. 12.

Melonas shared the honor with Hancock forward Ali Langford, who entered this week leading the WSC North in scoring at 21.9 points per game and had 23 points and 15 rebounds the Bulldogs 83-64 win at Moorpark Wednesday.
