The Ventura County Fusion may be out of the U.S. Open Cup, but several Fusion alumni are still alive in the competition. The third-round match between the Wilmington (N.C.) Hammerheads and Real Salt Lake will feature a veritable Fusion reunion.

Wilmington features six Fusion alumni, including Thousand Oaks High graduates Diego Barrera and Dylan Riley. Former Fusion players Artur Aghasyan and Jean Alexandre feature for Real Salt Lake

Wilmington dug out of a 2-0 deficit Tuesday to top the Carolina Eagles, 3-2, after extra time. The equalizing goal featured an assist from former hardworking Fusion midfielder Hakop Avesyan.
