CLU set for stadium debut

The Cal Lutheran football team will play its first game in its new stadium on Saturday night when it hosts Redlands in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener at 7 p.m.

The $8.9-million William Rolland Stadium still needs to pass one more inspection for the fire sprinkler on Wednesday, but CLU officials don't foresee that being a problem.

The stadium is not ready for full occupancy, so people will enter through the north gate next to the softball field rather than the stadium lobby.
