The Cal Lutheran football team used a big third quarter to defeat visiting Pacific Lutheran 28-17 today at Moorpark College.
The 19th-ranked Kingsmen (1-1) erupted for 21 points out of halftime to extend their home winning streak to 10 games, albeit a few miles away from campus.
Frankie Jones caught eight passes for 170 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown, and Daniel Mosier rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
CLU led only 7-3 at halftime, but put the game away with 21 unanswered points in the third quarter.
But it wasn't all pretty for the Kingsmen. CLU committed three turnovers and were penalized 14 times for 151 yards.
CLU has a bye before beginning defense of its Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title against rival Redlands on Oct. 1.
