Brittany Dubin scored two first-half goals and Anilu Saldana added a late equalizer as the Oxnard College women's soccer team threatened visiting Santa Barbara City, the No. 5-ranked team in the county, in Tuesday's WSC North opener.

"We would have liked to have gotten something out of the game, but we did some good things," said Propster. "We're trying to become a team that competes with the Santa Barbaras of the world, and we did."

Ashley Rodriguez and Ces Montaro created goals as Oxnard (2-4-3) jumped out to an early lead and responded to Santa Barbara's three-goal spurt just after halftime.

"We were able to create mistakes by them and take advantage of it," said Propster. "It's something we've been working on.
