Perhaps the most underrated performance of the night came from Moorpark punter David Sandler, who boomed nine punts for an average of 45.9 yards and hit a long of 59.
"The field position he provided was a huge thing," said Ventura coach Steve Mooshagian.
The former Calabasas High quarterback rolled a pair of punts inside the Ventura 2 in the first half. The first helped set up Moorpark's first touchdown.
"He had good English," said Mooshagian. "He looked like Tiger Woods out there.
Ventura punter Joe Reynoso also had a good night, punting nine times for a 39.3-yard average.
