The Moorpark College football team (4-2) leapt eight spots to No. 9 in this week's Southern California coaches poll.
The Raiders opened SCFA Western Conference play with a 31-24 win over Antelope Valley.
Ventura (3-3, 0-1) slipped six spots to No. 19 following its 31-24 loss to Cerritos. The Pirates host No. 12 Bakersfield Saturday.
