The Ventura College women's basketball team is No. 1 in both Southern California and the state for the 10th straight week.

After picking up a state first-place vote last week, it appears 26-1 Ventura lost it to 24-3 Foothill this week. Foothill and San Francisco are the only two teams in the Top 7 the Pirates have yet to beat.

VC is 6-0 against the state Top 7 and 5-0 against the SoCal Top 4.

Meanwhile, Moorpark, despite another two-win week, slipped one spot in the regional poll for the second straight week to No. 14. Although the Raiders (15-8) seem on the brink of wrapping up a postseason place by winning seven of their last eight.
