I found the following word for word on my front door......
Last Chance to save Kuehner Drive at the 118
Dear Neighbors,
A matter of utmost importance which will effect the future of Simi Valley demands that you attend a city council meeting on December 15th 2004 at 7:30 PM at 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley, California 93063.
The city of Simi Valley is preparing to permit the deterioration of our property values, the paving of our open spaces, the destruction of our natural habitat and the increase in traffic congestion and pollution. These are the consequences if the city approves the planned construction of a 3 story 75 unit condominium complex right in our backyards. This development will open the door for future Urban Sprawl as has been the case throughout the Los Angeles area.
Save the character of your home
By attending this meeting, you will send a strong signal to Mayor Miller and the city council that you oppose urban sprawl in our community and its devasting effects. Call city hall at 805-583-6700 and register your opposition to this urban sprawl invasion, located in the natural and sensitive wildlife corridor at the 118 and Kuehner.
Your concerned neighbor
Any comments? Ideas who is behind it? I have some ideas. If you haven't been to the proposed builing site you should, perhaps before it is too late. The site is pretty cool. It has alot of local character. I don't want to ruin the surprises there, so go explore for yourself!

Will this cover up that smiley face on the hill? That area is nice. I'd hate for more urban sprawl to make simi valley look like san fernando.
Informative and interesting. I hope the STAR will continue coverage about the proposed housing development off of Kuehner.
does humming bird ranch own this land?
Hummingbird does not own the land, but it is cheaper to attack and pay for attacks against the City Council then it is to buy the land outright.
If I could spend $100K instead of the $4-5 mil it would take to buy the land, I would.
To get the citizenry all worked up over 60 townhomes, and how evil the council is, even when this exact council stopped 1600 homes in Alamos Canyon seems a bit strange, doesn't it?
You can bet the Hummngbird people are indeed circling this one - indeed.
