Brian Dennert back.

So, any local leaders going? I doubt it. The leader of the most powerful party in the state that represents the most people, and no local mayors will likely be there. Isn't that sad? If any mayor wants a ticket, contact me.

This is a fundraiser to defeat Arnold's propositions. I wonder how popular Arnold is here in Ventura County.

I also wonder how Tom McClintock would of handled the job.

Brian,
Sounds like a great event, I hope everyone attends and gives generously to defeat Arnold's destructive proposals. I read in the L.A. Times today how Arnold made a video for Playboy in 1983 where he goes to Carnival in Rio. In the video he gropes a women who pulls his hands away and he tells the camera he loves grabbing his favorite body part, ass. The National Enquirer bought the video from a guy right before the recall election thinking it was the only copy and they gave him $2,000. Turns out it was not the only copy and is being sold on the internet. It looks like Arnold and W are seeing who can get the lowest approval ratings, Arnold down to 36% and W at 38% as of todays poll.

Arleigh,

Can you post some links to prove the story? That sounds pretty disturbing.

Also, are you planning on going?

Brian Dennert

Brian,
Yes, I am going to try and go, if I can't make it I will donate online. With today's story on Arnold go to www.latimes.com. George Skelton also has a great column today about the Special Election and the Daily News has a story on how the California Initiative process is being overused. Arleigh

Brian,
Did you read my comment on the possible Brown Act violation by the ICOC? Arleigh

Brian,
If anyone wants a good laugh go to google and type in the word failure and take a look at the first hit.

This is going to be a great event and everyone should try to attend. Lots of fun with Stephanie Miller as the keynote speaker (she's hilarious). Not only are Torres & Garamendi going to be there, here's a hot tip...a new candidate for the Dem nomination in the 24th will be there to throw their hat into the ring, to challenge Gallegly in '06.

If the governor's initiative Prop 76 passes we could see cuts of as much as 13 million dollars a year to Conejo schools. If Prop 74 passes it will make it even harder to recruit and retain the best and brightest new teachers for Conejo schools. If Prop 75 passes it will silence the voices of Conejo teachers in fighting for better funding for Conejo Valley schools. The same will be true for Simi, Moorpark etc. We need everyone who cares about a quality education for our students to get active in defeating Arnold's destructive school initiatives Props 74, 75, 76. Let's all say NO in NOvember!

Laura,

Hmm.. is it Brett Wagner?

After the person announces at the event, will you ask them to announce here first? They will getr plenty of attention if they do.

Brian

Brian,
FEMA director Mike Brown resigned today as FEMA director. I heard Time Magazine was looking into his resume and finding a string of lies. He got the job because he was a crony, not because he was qualified. Remember a few days ago when W said "Your doin a heck of a job Browny." I guess Browny was doing a "Snow Job." Also I went on the Conejo Democrats site and bought a ticket for the event. Also Brian congratulations on having the hottest blog on the Star's site.

Arleigh,

Thanks. So many of the other blogs are more narrow in scope, it is hard to see how they come up with stuff. Or they are about a trip that is already done.

I am hoping to be the source for politics in the area. Laura, help me get the exclusive of first internet posting here for the candidate.

Brian

Brian,
I like your blog because it is wide open and a lot of fun with great topics. Keep up the good work! If I ever do run for office (?) I will announce it here first. Who knows, it could be sooner than later?????!!!!!

Arleigh, so glad to see you're coming to the event on Sunday! We're almost at capacity, so it will be a great event.

Brian, the candidate I'm referring to is not Brett Wagner. Why don't you come to the event on Sunday and ask for your internet exclusive personally? A few tickets are still available on our website. ;-)

Laura,
How do I get the ticket I bought online? Thanks, Arleigh

Well, if you're going to laminate it...

Arleigh, I sent you email with details.

Brian, we've got a lot of energy and buzz for this event, on several levels...with Stephanie, Torres and Garamendi. A press release will be going out shortly about the 24th candidate. Here are the hints: Latina, woman of faith, longtime advocate & leader for affordable housing projects in Ventura & SB counties. She has support from major Dem players, as well as strong support from both liberal and conservative factions of the electorate in the two counties. This will be a very interesting primary!

No, not Anita. Her name is Jill. Yes, I understand that Brett is running. A little competition is healthy...may the best candidate win!

What other offices are we leaving with no candidates???

Brian, you will of course receive a press release. You could get a jump on everyone else by showing up on Sunday, and flashing that newly laminated pass ;-)

I don't know. State Senate? County offices (supervisor etc.), city offices?

Brian Dennert

I look forward to learning more about her.

Brian,
This was a great event yesterday, I look forward to the next one. Arleigh

Brian,
Right now we have three democrats running in the 24th. I think they see Elton as vulnerable because he has tied his fortunes to W's falling fortunes.

Brian,
Jill Martinez, Brett Wagner and a woman from Oak Park whose name escapes me at the moment. Should be a wild race!

This is a question for Laura Winchester: Are you aware of the offensive anti-gay slurs which Jill Martinez mailed to Brett Wagner? Are you backing that woman? If so, why, when Professor Wagner so galvanized the congressional district a few years ago with his message of competent foreign policy and a wise implementation of the progressive domestic agenda?

Brett Wagner put together a great grassroots campaign -- we need more of that. Don't be deceived by cheap imitations!
