Project Censored is coming to the Ventura County Area. Project Censored based at CSU Sonoma puts together an annual book with the most censored stories of the year.
I have read a few editions and they can be interesting. Stories can be censored for a number of reasons including large corporations and their lawyers, nasty governments, and a percieved lack of interest among the American people.
What were the most censored ( hard to spread the word about ) stories of the year for Ventura County?

Group plans forum on stories it says were not covered
December 21, 2005
On Dec. 28, Global Exchange Ventura County Supporters, a local support group of Global Exchange, an organization concerned with environmental and social issues, will present a forum, Censored in America 2006, at the Newbury Park Library.
The free, public event, to begin at 8:30 p.m., will examine news stories of 2005 that were not covered by the mainstream media. It will feature Peter Phillips, a sociology professor at Sonoma State University. Phillips is the director of the university's Project Censored, which examines news events that it says are not sufficiently covered by the media.
After Phillips' presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session. The Newbury Park Library is at 2331 Borchard Road.
For more information on the event, contact Joanie McClellan of Global Exchange Ventura County Supporters at 241-8855.
