The third candidate running for county supervisor is Peter Foy. Who is he? I am not sure. I have heard he is from the conservative wing of the Republican Party. The research I have mostly has found stories about him and local charities.
Do you know more about him? What issues or credentials does he bring to the table?
What does THIS link have to do with THIS link? Are any of my links about another Peter Foy, not the local candidate? If Supervisor Mikels has a challenger from the right as she appears to, what would be the conservative issues in a supervisor's race?
Why do I have a link To Ferial Masry here?

I thought only two people are allowed to run? Isn't he too late to run now?
Hilarious how the Stricklands so quickly dropped their endorsement of Jim Dantona.
The Star today has a story on this. Sounds as if the Strickland's recruited Foy to run because Bob Larkin ordered them to drop their endorsement of Dantona, otherwise, he would challenge Audra and also back Abel Maldonado. If Larkin does not file today we will know this is probably true. Mikels said in the story that the Strickland's are going after her because she backed Jeff Gorrell, as did Keith Richman, against Audra in her race. Of course the fact that they would bow to pressure and back away from Dantona really speaks to them being fair weather friends at best.
Y tu Tony?
I can't believe The Stricklands did this. If they cannot stand up to someone like Bob Larkin how can they stand up to the libs in the state senate?
Brian:
Thanks for the post with two links regarding Peter Foy, "Johnny-Come-Lately," candidate for the 4th Supervisorial District seat here in Ventura County. Based on the links, I checked out Peter Foy's involvement with the ultra-right, anti-government and anti-civil liberties organization known as the Council for National Policy (CNP) "www.SeekGod.ca/cnp.htm." First of all, CNP membership ain't cheap. The cost of regular members is $1500 per year. CNP Board of Governors members, like Peter Foy, pay $5,000 per year. Second, CNP Council meetings are closed to media and general public, and CNP members are urged to keep all packet materials distributed at those meetings secret. Third speakers remarks at CNP Council meetings are strictly "off the record," and not for public attribution or circulation, without special permission. Fourth,
Peter Foy is joined as a member of the CNP by the likes of Tom Delay, Jesse Helms, James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Bob Jones, Oliver North, Pat Robertson, Ralph Reed, Phyllis Schlafly, etc.. Get the picture?? The list of ultra-right, religious fundamentalist members of this group never ends. Fifth, there's an even more secretive and spookier cell within the CNP known as the Christian Reconstructionist Movement (CRM). CRM members advocate a radical goal of scrapping the U.S. Constitution (especially the first ten amendments, the Bill of Rights), and replacing it with their distorted and deranged version of the harsh legal code of the Old Testament, including advocacy of the death penalty for: blasphemers, incorrigible teenagers, gay people, witches and those who worship false gods!!!! (Sounds like Ventura County's own ultra-right, religious fundamentalist version of the Taliban to me). It seems to me that the voters in the 4th Supervisorial District better take a long-hard look at Peter Foy's association with these scary people and groups, before they unknowingly, and hence mistakenly cast a vote for Peter Foy in the June 6th election. By the way, after checking this all out, does anybody believe that Peter Foy truly believes in the separation of church and state??? NOT!!! Thank goodness that those of us who value humanism, civil liberties for all people, respect alternate life-styles and care deeply about the rights of gays and lesbians will be able to proudly cast our votes for Judy Mikels. All of us remember and deeply appreciate Ms. Mikels' authorship of the Board of Supervisor's resolution in support of the Simi Valley Gay Pride Festival in May of 2000 "www.simipride.org." We hope that she will author a similar resolution at the Board of Supervisors this year. Also, as a woman voter, I want to echo the recognition given to Ms. Mikels by the Simi Valley Free Clinic for her strong support for the woman's right to choose. Join me in voting form Judy Mikels on June 6th.

I just got a foldout piece from this candidate (Foy). I'm a bit confused. Is he a banker? An Insurance Exec? or a farmer? What qualifies him to run this County? He seems to only have some minor fundraising background.
