The above picture is of a Judy Mikels sign on Happy Face hill, a local hotly contested development issue. I can't believe anyone running for office would put their name on the hill, since it could be used as evidence ( rightfully or wrongly) that they support the project.
If you have a picture of a sign in an interesting location, e-mail it to me and I will post it.
UPDATE: Some people missed the point. I don't know if Judy Mikel's supports the project. I don't know if any of the candidates do. It is a great place to get exposure for a campaign, I just don't know if it would be worth it.

I saw that Tenenbaum dropped signs all over Simi Valley the last few days.
Brian,
I wrote a letter to the Star calling both things despicable - the development of Happy Face Hill with condos and Ms. Mikels putting her signs on the hill. Of course, they didn't print it. It is not bad enough to have every corner with signs, but to put your sign on Happy Face Hill, what a travesty!
It also shows that the people developing Happy Face Hill obviously support Ms. Mikels, so Ms. Mikels can count my vote for Jim Dantona.
What do you expect from an Arizona tract homes developer? Yes. Judy IS a member of an Arizona LLC that's developing tract outside Tucson. And it seems she's reported her residence AS Tucson...at least to the Arizona Secretary of State. But forget those technicalities. An example of Mikels' lack of sensitivity to community concerns is her approval of a 1400 sq ft house on a 1500sq ft lot, despite the objections of neighbors AND her own planning staff. And once she approved that house Mikels used it as an example of how small the parcels are in the Knolls, so she could justify Colton Lee Home's zoning change to six times the density of the existing zoning.
GS, can you give some evidence to your charges?
1. The 1400 on 1500 square feet. Do you have a link to that?
2. The Arizona Sec of State and the tract home stuff. Can you show us any evidence of that charge?
Thanks!
Hey Jason - it seems there are many things the Star doesn't want to print these days such as: http://capoliticalnews.com/discuss.php?id=407
Happy face hill? Mikels "friend" Elaine Freeman oversees this property which is clearly why the sign is there. As for the 1400 square foot house on 1500 sqaure foot property, that was more than just an opportunity to help Colton Lee - it was a chance for her to spit in the face of the Knolls as she has for years.
I believe anone could put a sign there, it just seems like a risky move.
You quoted capolitcalnews.com without commenting on the ongoing Operation: Eagle Defense. What gives?
I still like to read Frank's blog, even with the Bald Eagle stuff.

The home is a legendary eye sore in the Knolls. If you want to see as we do everyday - just ask your boss Judy. She knows exactly where it is.
Thanks for posting her web site. Good to see she finally got rid of the FPPC-defiant contribution page for a Senate campaign that ended years ago (actually before it ever got statred)
Go Foy!
The Knolls house(s) are on Katey lane and Sylvan Drive, close by County fire Station 43 (which is being shut down for lack of funds due to Mikels' fiscal management).
The "ad" being referenced was a piece written by Mikels' former chief of staff, Jason Oliver, and was printed in THE STAR on May 5. Perhaps someone can scan and post it. It will not be in the online archives because THE STAR would not print it as a Letter, forcing Oliver et al to pay for the privilege of rebutting the free campaign ads THE STAR provided for Mikels.
Info on Mikels' extra-curricular Arizona activities can be gotten from the Dantona campaign directly or from ther most recent mailings.
The Star won't publish letters to the editor that contain libelous material.
Are you suggesting that they won't print a Letter that MIGHT or MIGHT NOT be libelous but that they WOULD aid an incumbent by providing front page space so that candidate can lie to the voters in an attempt to tamper with the outcome of an election? I'm not sure I follow what's going on.
Front page space with a color photo of Supervisor Mikels inside her Simi Valley home. Don't forget the color photo! It was front-page news because it was so unusual and amusing for a local elected official to have to host the media inside her home that a desperate challenger claims does not exist.
By the way, Station 43 is being moved, not closed, because the fire protection district determined the move will improve response times for the most people possible. Saying it will be "shut down" due to "lack of funds" is hilarious! Quite the imagination. You should start your own comedy blog.
What's hilarious is that our incumbent had to deny a word-of-mouth rumor witha front page article.
And as for the Fire Station. I was at the meetings and heard from both fire Officials AND Ms Mikels and their reason was that the County hadn't enough money to keep Station 43 open AND build a new station to serve all the planned develeopment in the hills north of Simi Valley...so the new station would need to cover BOTH areas due to budget restraints. For some reason Mikels couldmnt come up with the $450K to keep 43 open if the new one was built.
By the way, the uissue of "serving the most emergency calls" is sheer accounting nonsense because though MOST calls come from the valley center, most of those are non-life threatening and include sprains, fender benders in parking lots, skateboard mishaps, etc. Most of the calls from SOUTH of the valley are true emergency responses and include mountain terrain accidents and BRUSH FIRES! One major brush fire can cost the county a thousand times the cost of keeping Station 43 open while a new station is built to serve the OVER DEVELOPMENT planned for north of the 188 Freeway.
So Jason, have a big laugh. But afterwards, get your facts straight.
Let me see if this is right. They won't print an anti-mikels letter because it is libel, but they will sell ad space for the same content?
Is it just me or does that photo look a bit like Arizona?
That's right. The Star would not run the anti Mikels letter so we had to pay for an ad, AFTER the Star's legal department reviewed it and after Mr. Oliver signed a release...
Barbra Williamson
Disputing the truth of my letter printed in the Ventura County Star is futile. Former Mikels staff members, associates and several current public officials have contacted me offer support and to say they too can offer firsthand accounts which attest to the COMPLETE accuracy of EVERY point I made.
Hollow threats are the hallmark of desperate people.
Brian,
The teachers and school workers in Simi and the teachers in Moorpark have endorsed Dantona for Supervisor. But the Star refuses to publish this fact, despite receiving three press releases on it. Why is this? Could it be because K Jajko worked for the Star? The same K Jajko who worked to promote the failed North Park? The same K Jajko who is now working on the Mikels campaign????? Why does the Star refuse to cover this race?????
Neither will the STAR run any letters or press releases outlining Dantona's plans for District 4, making the race seem to most voters as if none of the candidates have any proposals, and that's an old time political trick to sway the vote by keeping the race hostile for the challenger and incumbent-friendly.
The Star, right on their Blog navigation page is offering each supervisorial candidate an opportunity to blog about the issues that matter to them most...
Dantona Can blog...
Mikels can blog...
Foy can blog...
They just won't, because they would rather let you do the talking for them... seems cynical, but do we really need any 3 of them if they don't know how to even blog?
Any write-in candidates?

Don't elect a candidate because they don't have their own blog site????????????????????????????
Yup - your right - forget attendance, public safety, growth, taxes, land fills, traffic ETC ETC ETC ...
THE MAIN ISSUE IN THIS RACE IS BLOGGING!
HOWARD DEAN FOR COUNTY SUPERVISOR!
No comments on my new ability to fix pictures with microsoft paint?
If you have pictures of signs or other political events e-mail them to me.
Hmmmm, wonder why we then require the elected official to live in the district? Why not just elect someone from Arizona and let a local staff run the office? Same thing, right "Clearly not GS".
Who pays those phone bills when Mikels travels out of state and has to call or be called by her lonely staff? Who pays for the airfare? Isn't she getting a car allowance paid for by the taxpayers? Does she get mileage or does she have a Couny Credit Card to fill up her car and pay for parking? Does she ever have her paid government employees drop her at the airport or run personal errands? I guess these are questions a responsible press would be asking. Too bad there doesn't seem to be any press that fall into this category in Ventura County these days.
Does McClintock live in the district?
