Actually, I would like to know if people like the pictures of the political signs. Because if they don't, then I wouldn't have to hang out the window taking pictures. However, if they do like them, then I will continue to aid the cause.

Keep the pix coming! I'm collecting the entire set.

I don't know about all this, but does anyone find it interesting that the Star is spending so much time and energy covering the Spelling Bee? I'm sure it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the fact that Scripps Newspapers is the sponsor.

Well, they have to cover SOMETHING in their effort to avoid covering the election issues.

I dont know who Bubba is?

This is the same newspaper that once had a 99 Cents store opening as front page NEWS. I'm with you 100% Gary!

I understand THE STAR's reluctance to allow campaign PR dominate their pages but their ARE some very interesting issues being discussed this election. Setting aside the Mikels' absentee supervisor issue and her record of mediocrity, Dantona's raised at least three issues that would change the basic nature of the County's relationship to its residents. First, he'd change the land use process for the unincorporated areas by making Safety the first important hurdle for developers rather than the last minute detail that it is now. Second, he'd see that these areas have more input on land use changes within their communities, including the creation of local Area Plans. And third, he'd make sure the communityis aware of and has a greater voice in the WMI landfill expansion plans, rather than keep this extremely important proposal under wraps until its nearly finalized...and thus out of reach of community input.

If we can't get coverage of issues that have such dramatic effect on our Community what hope is there for turning out informed voters on election day?

PS: Despite the Media's lack of interest in the Primary Election I'm betting on a near-record turnout for District 4!

If constituents took the time to look at Gallegly's record over the last 20 years they would not re-elect him. Regardless of what his supporters say,he has not adequately represented the 24th Congressional District. He could have done so much more. The stream of accolades heaped on Gallegly ,some inaccurate,is indicative of the pollution that has affected the water on some people's brains. Mr. Gallegly has remained in the closet throughout the primary campaign. He is either arrogant, not interested, or getting more bad advice from his handlers.Maybe he really does have a severe case of Glossophobia,a fear of speaking in public. It makes one wonder how he ever functioned in congress where verbal interaction is critical to getting one's point across. Do you think that he just might be a Republican Party puppet? His voting record may be the answer. If there were a 3 strikes law for under representation,Party bungling, and playing follow the leader,Mr. Gallegly would have been back in the real estate business a long time ago.
Folks, don't be afraid of change. It will very possibly be refreshing and rewarding for the 24th Congressional District. Take a good hard look at this Tenenbaum fellow. He appears to be extremely bright, great education, vigorous, outspoken and not hemmed in by political or outside alliances.

In any even, please vote on June 6th.

Bubba - wish you the best and hope you vote for Dantona.
