The Rev. Jill Martinez named a long time local Democratic Party leader to lead her campaign recently. Chris Robson has also been a long time reader and contributer to this blog. Hopefully this will continue in the future.
Chris, do you have any word on debates between Jill and Elton? I'd love to see that happen. Maybe the Tenenbaum team has the ol' chicken suit around if Elton declines.
Word for word from the press release:
Jill announced today that she has asked local Democratic Party leader Chris Robson to continue with her campaign for Congress as Campaign Director. Robson, President of the Democratic Club of Camarillo and member of the Ventura County and California Democratic Party Central Committees, has been involved with politics and campaigns here on the central coast for almost three decades. Currently a Camarillo resident, also living in Goleta for several years, he has spent most of his life living in Southern California. Robson is married and has an adult son; both his wife and son are UCSB Alumni.
Jill Martinez said she selected Chris âbecause of his leadership, campaign experience and expertise, having been instrumental in defeating the Governorâs proposals in last fallâs special election, and in the Kerry- Edwards campaign â locally and in Nevada, Ohio and Florida, and many others.â?
Robson said âthe key to winning elections is doing the hard work, doing it well, intelligently and with the most enthusiastic team of volunteers and staff you can possibly organize. We are fortunate to have developed a tremendous team, and we definitely are staffed and organized to win in November.â? He also noted: âJillâs strong results in the June 6 primary election, where she ran unopposed (garnering 36% of all votes cast) demonstrates the viability of her candidacy.â?
