Arnold and Glen Team up!
![Glen_Becerra[2].jpg](http://blogs.venturacountystar.com/vcs/dennert/archives/Glen_Becerra%5B2%5D.jpg)
( The above picture was created for me by Brian H. Mack. It is Glen Becerra, Simi Valley council member as Maj Alan "Dutch" Schaeffer from Arnold's movie the Predator.)
I recently stumbled upon a press release ( i En Espanol! ) and story that Glen Becerra is helping Arnold team up to appeal to Hispanic voters.
Simi Valley in the past has not had statewide leadership. In fact it seems frequently our assemblymembers, state senators, and others ( With Gallegly being the exception) that represent us are not from here. There is nothing lacking with effective leadership from outside the area, but it is refreshing to see our leaders making a larger impact.
Of course, cynics may see this move as a way for Glen Becerra to cozy up to Arnold for his future run for Gallegly's seat, but nothing is wrong with ambition in the public's interest.
I would imagine council member Becerra will laugh when he sees the picture. I am hoping it will scare off anyone that wants to mess with Simi Valley.
Glen when you see the picture please leave a comment on what you think Arnold offers California and why you helped found Hispanic Families for Arnold group.

Posted by: gs at August 10, 2006 07:21 AMI am glad that he is supporting the governor. It is about time somebody put Simi Valley on the political map.
Posted by: Ahnold at August 10, 2006 03:19 PMHe should dress like that for council meetings. It would drive up ratings.
Posted by: Funny Ha Ha Man at August 10, 2006 04:14 PMWhy is the site in Spanish?
Posted by: TTT at August 10, 2006 05:08 PMMaybe his name should be the "councilnator"
Posted by: Nic K. Names at August 10, 2006 06:29 PMI leave for a few months and this place falls apart. How is it that a guy who supports English Only, which is a good idea, have a site in Spanish?
Is there a single person that will vote for Arnold that can't read English?
Glen Becerra has gone really far in the Republican Party being Latino. I am surprised the Federal Republicans don't use him more often.
Posted by: 3.14 at August 10, 2006 08:47 PM3.14,
You sound like you consider Becerra's success in the Republican party to be very unusual for a Latino or are you saying perhaps it is owed to his being Latino or both.
Posted by: Garibaldi at August 10, 2006 10:59 PMGlen Becerra,
Has done nothing as a councilman except approve to many developments. He thinks he's going to be the next congressman but he will have a big surprise it will be Peter Foy. He needs to go.
A quote to prove Becerra PLAYS race politics and how it will stop him from getting conservative support in any primary.
But Simi Valley Councilman Glenn Becerra, a staffer with former Republican Gov. Pete Wilson and a Bush appointee to the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars, said Tuesday he was far from amused by Dean's suggestion that Republicans constitute "a white Christian party," and called the Democratic Party chairman "an embarrassment."
"I'm living proof that the (GOP) isn't what Howard Dean is trying to describe,'' Becerra said during a telephone interview. "It's a sad day when Democrats don't have any ideas to put forward, and they have to resort to race politics. President Bush didn't get 40 percent of the Hispanic vote (in 2004) because we're a monolithic, white Christian party."
He also will never get cross over votes for being a partisan follower of ANY Republican to get ahead.

Thanks for the photoshop Brian Mack!
I hope everyone enjoys. If someone did a sweet photoshop like that for me, I'd print it out and put it on the fridge.
