This picture was from a car outside I saw parked out on a street. This is one way around the new "No signs in Simi Valley" rule.
Donna Prenta announced the endorsements of three out of the five school board members. Difatta, Collins, and Sandland.
Prenta Partners ( her campaign team name) also said many more endorsements are in the works.

Wait, next she'll call them "education leaders" like Dantona did. Their endorsements sure helped him.
Holy Cow, Prenta is supported by many community members incuding Mikels. I hope you don't hold that against her.
I would think getting 2nd and defeating Mikels would be something noteworthy for Dantona. Incumbents don't get defeated often.
I saw a car with the sign on it so I googled the name and came here. Who is Prenta? Who is she running against?
Hello Shep,
Thank you for showing an interest in my campaign.
Quite frankly this is a shift for me to be talking about what I have done for the community. I was not raised to bring attention to my good works, because it would be self serving. Much of what my husband and I have donated to the community we have done so anonymously. We have been making ourselves more visible lately. I understand that the community needs to see that I have a proven track record of service in order to elect me so I am willing to be more public about my service.
It's upsetting when others use a public office for a stepping stone to higher office or their own personal gain rather it be financial or power. I assure you that I am in it for the children and our community.
I am a children's advocate and I provide case management to families, school's, courts, public agencies and medical professionals for children with disabilities or juveniles in the court system. I emphasize resolution, building bridges and partnerships with a special emphasis on healing damaged relationships for all parties concerned. I provide these services pro bono in Ventura County students as a public service. I have had clients throughout Southern CA as well as several other states.
I have earned the support of many leaders in our community because of my tireless devotion to all children in our community, regardless of their exceptional challenges.
I was appointed unanimously by the Board of Supervisors to represent the constituents of Ventura County on the HSA Ventura County Behavioral Health, Mental Health Board. I received special recognition from all BOS for the leadership I provided. I identified a federal funding source; EPSDT that helped to bring our County millions for children mental health services and programs. These programs are providing significant intervention and prevention to students that would have been a financial strain on our school's.
I was also appointed unanimously by the SVUSD School Board to represent them for Ventura County on the Commuity Advisory Committee, a state mandated citizen committee.
I have worked on developing Memorandums of Understanding (MOU's)between Behavioral Health, County School District's, Probation, Tri-County Regional Center, California Children's Services, colleges among other public agencies. It was a great day when I had both a DA and PD attend a meeting at a school to help a student receive the intervention that he needed to keep him out of jail. They came to the meeting with a copy of the MOU to see how we could all work together according to the design. I have been commended by our Juvenile Judges for helping our public agencies collaborate.
I have devoted my life to service to our school's and community while we raised our family of four children. I have served on school site councils, PTA, AWANA, GATE Advisory Committee, Boy Scouts and helped to raise many thousands of dollars for the arts and sciences in schools, college scholarships and teacher grants. I am currently the President of the SVUSD, Special Education Advisory Committee. I have served as the President three times and have been a member for seven years.
Why do I do all these things? We appreciate very much how much our community has done to help us raise our family and provide them with a quality education. Our three sons are alumni of SVUSD, two are now attending Moorpark college. I have a daughter with severe disabilities that has benefited greatly from the services that she has received. She is alive today as a result and able to walk and eat independently, she will enter HS this year. We feel it is our moral responsibility to give back. Not all parents have the time or resources to advocate for their children, I am fortunate to be in a position to help others so I do. I also recognize the limited resources that our public agencies have so I try to have all parties be reasonable for the best of the community and also to avoid law suits. I have never had a case go to due process we have always had resolution and saved the taxpayers a lot of money and kept the reources for the classrooms.
So there you have it, that is my motivation to become your representative. I am already working with community leaders on how we can improve the programs for our County School's and provide better representation for the East county.
I would appreciate your support!
Shep,
If you have any further questions or would like to let me know the issues that are important to you I can be reached at tprenta@aol.com or 805-404-0914.
Thank you again for taking an interest in my campaign. Together we can make a difference in children's live and help Ventura County to continue to be a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.
Donna Prenta
Surprised the new sign ordinance doesn't somehow cover cars!
Brian, are you trying to "stir" the pot?
I think Ms. Prenta is very clever and innovative. I would like to encourage ALL candidates to have magnetic signs on not only their car, but all of their supporters....
Good going Donna........
Thanks Barbra!
Funny thing my son was so proud of my signs that he took one and placed it on his dirty car, it fell off and he lost it, so if anyone finds one in the street, my phone number is on it please call me.
I do not want to be fined for littering! OUCH!
