Rev. Jill Martinez on youtube

Rev. Jill Martinez has a new video up on youtube about Iraq.

UPDATE: There is also a story about her on dailykos.com the world's #1 political blog. Maybe I was wrong about this campaign after all. They got alot of ground to make up but they are picking up the pace.

UPDATE V 2.0: Jill has opened up a Simi Valley office. Can someone from the campaign post the important details?

Feel free to leave questions and hopefully she or her staff will respond. I think they will be more likely to have a serious converation if you don't use fake names.

I wonder if Gallegley can say anything about Iraq that doesn't falsely connect it with 9/11. Good for Jill for speaking out.

Even though Bush says it is "unacceptable to think", there are plenty of us that think all the time about how much damage the Iraq war has done to our country. We have lost the respect of the world, and we are in debt to the count of trillions and trillions of dollars. The war in Iraq is not the same war as the war on the terrorists that hit the twin towers on 9/11. Iraq is George Bush's war, based on contrived, false intelligence. Support our troops, bring them home. Jill Martinez will work to bring them home. Elton Gallegley wants to keep them there fighting a civil war for the Iraqi factions. Since when do American soldiers fight a civil war for another country?

Mary! You are exactly right. Lets look at history in the US - yes the French helped us during the revolution, but they packed up and left afterwards. You didn't see the French get involved in our Civil War! We helped them outst the dictator, now let them figure things out. Change our focus like Jill says- focus less on fighting more on peacekeeping and getting out!

Oh and another thing! HOW DARE ELTON FAIL SO MISERABLY TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!! He just received a miserable 13% rating for his lack of votes supporting Veterans Benefits! HE RECEVIED THE SECOND TO LOWEST RATING OUT OF THE ENTIRE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES!!!

He voted against the following votes!

1 - Melancon of Louisiana Amendment; Military Quality of Life and VA Appropriations, FY2006
Melancon amendment that sought to add $53 million for veterans health care and process claims for compensation and pensions. It would be offset by $169 million cut to the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Act (by a recorded vote of 213 ayes to 214 noes, Roll No. 224).

2 - Congressional Budget for FY 2006

3 - Spratt of South Carolina Substitute Amendment; Congressional Budget for FY 2006

4 - Obey of Wisconsin Amendment; Congressional Budget for FY 2006

5 - Making emergency supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2005, and for other purposes
Filner amendment that sought to provide funding for the Veterans' Health Administration (agreed to sustain the ruling of the chair by a recorded vote of 224 ayes to 200 noes, Roll No. 71).

If you truly support our troops. You will vote to retire Elton Gallegley.

I think this kind of hypocracy just points toward the idea that most of what is going on is puppetry, and not much real politics. This pains me, and I hope that as the world wakes up, so too the United States Government learns a few lessons too.
I wonder myself what favors Elton has done for Bush to be such a heel at the moment.
We defenitely have put ourselves in a new position, though the government may see themselves as the "good" olde superpower we used to be, we obviously are in for some changes. I'm glad Bush cannot go for another term, and I'm curious to see what happens to America next. May peace come, and may people like Elton begin thinking for themselves... er... just begin thinking!

Gallegly's health must have taken another turn for the worse, because he doesn't seem to be campaigning at all...props to Jill for getting out her message and asking for some accountability in government!

How we can we export Democracy to the Middle East when the facist Republicans refuse to engage in it here.

Every person that knows Gallegly is ducking the debates like he did with Tenenbaum but still supports him should admit they don't support Democracy or the troops.

The troops are fighting FOR Democracy, local Republicans are against it!

If anyone has a picture of the current congressman with the current President please send them to fonzy@sbcglobal.net

It seems Republicans are ashamed of the President.

Not a major issue, but annoying to us Simi residents. How is it that Mr. Gallegly is allowed to post a campaign sign in the public right-of-way at the Madera Road off-ramp? Is his campaign not in touch with Simi's new ordinance prohibiting such? Or is it a loophole that he is exploiting? Either way as a conservative I was furious at this display.

Call the city. The city government does not play favorites. We need to ban all signs and have them removed. All the names of the candidates are already on the ballot!

Posted by: Call at September 26, 2006 12:06 AM

If Mr. Gallegly does not have the respect to adhere to simple, city ordinances, why do we not realize that this lack of respect is what he gives to his constituents while serving in Congress?

They may just be signs, but how you act as a Candidate is indicative of what you will do (or have been doing) in Congress.

I've been hearing lots of complaints from the Northern part of the 24th district in Lompoc and Orcutt that not only have Jill Martinez's signs been removed, but Gallegly's campaign is using the posts from Jill's signs to put his on.
How man laws does that break?!

Posted by: Jeremy at October 1, 2006 01:43 PM

Jeremy if you get a video of any sign being removed by any campaign or of any campaign using another campaign's signs send it to me and I will post it.
