May all other tyrants be served notice.

Click on continue reading for a poor quality cell phone video of him having the noose put around his neck and falling from the gallows.

It is kind of strange that some guy was able to sneak a cell phone into the execution chambers. What type of security does the Iraqi government have?

Before he hangs this article says you can hear the crowd chant for American enemy Muqtada Al Sadr. They are also not wearing military uniforms. To avoid more division in Iraq it should have been done by the government and not by supporters of militias that are anti-Sunni. Saddam Hussein received justice but it is not clear if the people of Iraq will.

Add to the list other people that should be shown to the gallows.

I will start with Kim Il-sung.

I'm just curious, why did you pick that particular photo to illustrate the post? Also, are you advocating some sort of general aggressive militaristic posture towards "tyrants." After all, the only reason Saddam was taken out of power was because of coalition military action.

Do you recognize the photo Owen?

Shaking Hands: Iraqi President Saddam Hussein greets Donald Rumsfeld, then special envoy of President Ronald Reagan, in Baghdad on December 20, 1983. What followed is pure speculation.

We have always been at war with Oceania! Always!

If Christ were on earth today and we asked him if Sadam should be killed, what would he say?

Render unto Caesar...?

What are you hinting at "Just curious"?

Would Christ turn his back on Sadam or offer salvation? Why is it people like Bush and Robertson love to quote Old Testament and never quote the words or deeds of Christ?

Are you saying that Bush should of offered him salvation?

Dennert, Blough,
So what did you think of the hanging? Bush said it was a step forward and showed how far Iraq has come. Then we see the video and hooded Shiite thugs do the hanging while chanting the name of al-Sadr, a man responsible for the kiiling of hundreds of American troops, now the Sunni's want revenge and the Country is going deeper into civil war. Was hanging Sadam worth 400 billion of our tax dollars and lives of 3,000 american kids?

Mach,

You saw my comments about the lack of security and the fact it looked like a militia killed him, not a government ( no uniforms?), correct?

I do not think it will bring peace to Iraq. But i hope it brings solace to his many victims and their families.

Saddam Hussein was brought to justice. I think we shall all celebrate that.

Yes, I recognize it, which is precisely why I'm asking why you used it. You're making an argument, but as with all visual arguments, it is open to multiple interpretations. I'd just like to know, explicitly, why you decided on this one. Also, I'd like your input on the general aggressive stance seemingly suggested by your post.

I'm always amazed that people from the party of "nuance" can't understand how drastic changes in geopolitics and can affect the relationships between states and individuals. Just because we were friendly to a regime once, doesn't guarantee that it will always be so, especially when that relationship was based on a common enemy. Should FDR be forever indicted because he was cozy with Stalin, who killed far more people than Saddam? Moreover, our support for him was miniscule. We supplied him with approximately one percent of all weapons transfered from 1973 to 2002. Hardly "arming him." Especially when you consider that the Danes gave more than us,and France gave more than ten times as much. In fact, the three main nations opposed to the Iraq war were his three biggest suppliers, accounting for 82% of all weapons transfers.

The invasion was about more than just hanging Saddam. There were lots of issues all wrapped up together, including WMDs, Humanitarian concerns, and International law. As Wolfowitz put it, WMDs was the one issue that everyone could agree on, there were myriad others.

The fact that democrats can't celebrate will help us solidify our party as the majority party!

Owen and Bush are the last two people in America who still support the failed war in Iraq.

After watching video of Sadam being hanged, a ten year old Houston boy went to his room and hanged himself by accident. Another victim of Bush and his Iraq policy.

I am very pleased that Saddam hussein was killed by The Mahdi Army and now the noose is in the hands of Muqtada Al Sadr.

Check out my resume.
