Surprise! Peter Foy won!
I ran into a couple of nice people that worked on the Peter Foy campaign and they said Jim Dantona called and conceded the race to Peter Foy. I know at this point it isn't much of a surprise, but congrats to Peter Foy. I am sure you are relieved at the end of a long election.
They also said they think Peter Foy was talking about 3 terms when he referred to term limits. I don't have a pledge or anything like that. I would like to see more details on his term limits pledge. For example, will he limit himself if the rest of the board does not?
Good Luck Mr. Foy. I am most looking forward to your work on ethics reform and a new gang unit.
If you ever have press releases about the work you are doing, send them in and I will post them.

There you go Brian. Trying to be funny. Isn't that "over the top"? As I recall, you didn't think humor was appropriate in this "serious" political climate. Remember the fellow running out of Snookies? Naughty, naughty, Brian. Some just can't take a little humor. Isn't that sad?
Posted by: Trying to be Funny at December 2, 2006 08:09 AMAccording to the story in the Star today, it looks like the GOP broke the law to help Foy win. The fine tradition of Delay, Abramoff, Cunningham, Ney, Foley and the Stricklands sleaze continues. Their candidate couldn't win fair and square, so they broke the law to make it happen. They make the decent Republicans look bad.
This definitely taints Foy's win and he goes into office owing favors to his cronies, big time.
Posted by: GOP is corrupt at December 2, 2006 10:55 AMJust strange that sudden opposition to dump expansion is picking up in LA Councilmember Cardenas office?
Posted by: LA Times at December 2, 2006 04:20 PMNothing improper was done. The only problem is that the Deputy Clerk is not familiar with a member communications program. There has never been truly active participation in this county from either major party, so it is understandable that this kind of action would surprise them.
We are assisting the County Clerk, and have supplied them with all statutory and regulatory justification for our program and have encouraged them to become well aquainted with the practice because the Ventura Republican Party has decided to take an activist role in all future elections.
Once the Clerk becomes familiar with the laws governing these programs all compliants will be withdrawn.
Posted by: Mike Osborn at December 2, 2006 08:22 PMWell, if the Stricklands can do it then I certainly think its OK for the entire Central Committee to get involved in the laundry business. Good to know that the Elections Office is getting a legal education from Mike Osborn.
I'm sure Greg Totten, Bob Brooks, Mike Bradbury, Larry Methany, Dan Goodwin, Christine Cohen, and other county officials are proud that they stood with a man that chose to conduct his campaign in such an unethical fashion. That was really considerate of Foy and the Central Committee to give them a lesson in integrity and public trust.
So tell me Mike Osborn, in the last amended filing I noticed that C & L Graphics paid in a lot of money and then they were paid out a lot of money for work done on behalf of Foy, Kunicki, Dunn, Anderson, Lennox. C & L Graphics is owned by Charles Ball - a Foy supporter. Is this the GOP version of the Hokie-Pokie? You put your left foot in, you take your left foot out .........
You must just be mad that your RINO sect of the party lost to the conservative branch under the leadership of Tony Strickland.
Move On!
Tony Strickland has done more for the local Republican cause then you will ever do!
Mr. Bradbury has a column today on Elton's integrity. If Elton has so much integrity, why are his people on the GOP central committee involved with laundering money for Peter Foy? Maybe this was the ethics reform Mr. Foy was talking about. And I'm waiting for my money from Nigeria.
Posted by: Corruption at December 3, 2006 07:13 AMHow did Peter Foy help launder money? That is a strong charge and you better back it up.
Who controls the central committee? Is it Foy? Strickland? Gallegly?
So, Foy won because of what may be illegal donations from the Ventura County Republican Party. Osborn don't worry, given that Totten and Brooks are in your back pocket, no real investigations will be done. I would only worry if the feds ever get involved in doing a real investigation into you and Strickland and the rest of your ilk!
Posted by: Vincent Vega at December 4, 2006 09:58 AMDid you guys know that Foy knows where Hoffa is barried? He also knows where and how Kennedy was shot.
You guys have to be kidding me with this illegal donation stuff. Here back on planet earth none of that happened. I beg any of you people making those large false allogations to come up with a shred of evidence (which you wont and cant). Then go on and post it up here for all of us to read. W/Out it, you mine as well say that Mercury insurance agents are not from this planet!
And last note, Could it make sense to the guy accusing C&L Graphics of illegal activity, that maybe, just maybe he did some printing work for Foy and the republicans. That company, (as it says in the title) is a company who makes brochures and other types of graphics to be mailed. Did anyone see mailers go out before the elctions? I got tons of them. Do you suppose Foy and the rest of the winners printed those on thier home computers? C'mon, get your heads out of your butts and lets talk about What we expect our supervisor to do now that he is in office.
Please learn how to spell, Mr. "Get Me Some Proof". You mis-spelled buried "barried", allegations "allogations", might, "mine" their "thier" and elections "elctions". Learn to spell and then we will take you seriously. I doubt any proof would be enough for you. You're like one of the original O.J. jurists who despite the facts, said, "Not guilty!"
Posted by: Vincent Vega at December 4, 2006 03:20 PMI love all the left-wing radicals around here. First you make outrageous, baseless allegations without proof. Then when someone asks for proof the response is to argue against giving proof by claiming it wouldn't be believed anyway, and then attacking the person by wordsmithing his post. That is why all you liberal headcases around here are such a laughingstock.
Posted by: Vincent Needs A Real Life at December 4, 2006 05:25 PMOh, I see. It is someone else's fault that you are too ignorant to spell. Don't get a life buddy, go get an education! LOL
Posted by: Vincent Vega at December 4, 2006 05:33 PM"My name is Vincent and I can spell!" Thats all you would have to say to prove how cool of a speller you are! How many spelling bee's did you win in elementary school any way?
Dude, get back to the points. Answer my questions. Thats it. Mock all you want about spelling, but clearly you are afraid of the truth. You are another typical rumor spreader that has no clue about facts or what the truth is. Let me guess, you love Al Gore and his movie about global warming. You think Hillary would make a great president. And, you hate Bush. That is all you are, a typical low person with no real argument, just conspiracy.
No need responding. We are not worthy of your intelligence.
Mr. Proof, okay I am sorry you cannot spell. I think Bush is a great President. I mean come on, the guy has doubled the national debt and gotten 3,000 kids killed in Iraq for a war that was based on lies. I can see why you worship Bush and why you would love to kiss hiss Butt if given the chance.
Posted by: Vincent Vega at December 5, 2006 09:22 AMOops, I made a spelling error, your bad spelling is rubbing off. I meant you would "Love to kiss his butt".
Posted by: Vincent Vega at December 5, 2006 09:23 AMHey Vince,
Mr. Proof is so lame he cannot even come up with his own screen name! LOL!!!!!!!!!!

For the record:
The title was an attmept at humor. Since I have already recieved a message about the title by someone that thought I was really surprised Peter Foy won I figured I would clear that up for those with a humor disability.
Again, thanks to the people I met tonight out on the town that updated me.
