The Star reported today that John Zaragoza is running for county supervisor from Oxnard. Current Supervisor John Flynn has not announced his intentions yet but the move seems to be part of an effort to help persuade John Flynn to retire.
John Flynn has taken questions from my blog readers in the past and you can read them here and here.
Does anyone from Oxnard have more information on this campaign? Who is John Zaragoza? What are his chances with or without Flynn in the campaign? What will be his base of support?

Hear it here first John Flynn is running again but it is nice to see we have someone waiting in the wings when he does retire.
In the last election he was third and Flynn was second. That being the case I would imagine another candidate would jump in if it becomes an open seat.
Maybe John Flynn's son?

After going to the Ventura County District Attorneys Office about Ventura County Conservator/Probate crimes being committed by Ventura County Employees I can tell you Greg Totten does a rather impressive Alberto Gonzales impression.
Believe me you couldn't tell the difference between the two.
Now that all the evidence is in it is obvious we sentenced the wrong man to Ventura County District Attorney. Greg Totten has allowed crimes to be committed just doors away from his office. I brought it to his office's attention and they defiantley ignored the crimes being committed against the most vulnerable. Greg Totten has turned gang crime in Oxnard into a bigger problem by pitting gangmembers against each other in my opinion. To my knowledge he has thrown parents in jail for becoming angry that he let their son's killers go. The killers went free but the dead childs parents went to jail... Does that make sense? Greg Totten sued the County and whoever else because of his poor timing in asking for funds for his department in my opinion.
Greg Totten has coasted on his endorsement from the previous district attorney. You might remember him from the Donald Scott murder case... Remember that Mr. Bradbury? What has Mr. Totten done since?
It is time we convict the right man.
What is with the random Bamieh for VC District Attorney posts? If Bamieh wants to run, send an email to Brian and I'm sure he'll get his own thread.
To answer "not Laura": because of his tireless committment to the community. I also think that he'd work well with the other Supervisors - he'd be a good team player.

Ron Bamieh is real. A defender of the common man, woman, and child. A leader, a role model, a mentor. Ron Bamieh stood up for the community when Greg Totten wouldn't. Ron Bamieh kept his promise to the people. He said, "there are problems not being addressed and I will address them wether I am District Attorney or not.

Greg Totten had all our tax dollars and he just asked for more. Then when we didn't have it he sued us. Greg Totten couldn't protect us from the people working right down the hall from his office. Greg Totten has created a culture of coruption simular to other District Attorneys we know. GREG TOTTEN WORKS FOR THEM!!! He does not work for us.
Ron Bamieh has earned his shot. He was there when we weren't there for ourselves. Please wake up to what is going on with our local government. IRVINE IS THE SAFEST CITY IN THE COUNTRY!!! Obviously we are doing something wrong!!!
It's nice Mr. Foy is keeping Mr. Zaragoza's seat warm for him.
