It is my personal opinion that if one of the Stricklands recieved any money from WMI it is through a PAC. One would have to find the PAC that recieved money from WMI then gave it to them.

Earlier you asked someone about calling the soldiers kids. Here is a quote from Bush to show you it is a common term.

"We can debate Iraq -- and should. There should be no debate about making sure that money gets there on a timely basis so our kids can do the job we've asked them to do."

The Republicans should form a committee comprised of Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, and other useless government people to live outside the green zone until they think the war is over.
Right now the only people that are suffering are the soldiers and their families.
The money isn't getting to the soldiers. The money is getting into Republican pockets. Everything about this war was designed to enrich the Arab friends of the Bush administration.
At one time Simi Valley Republicans thought they were one of the "special people" or "insiders" that were immune to these crimes. Now how do they feel.

Does anyone around here support Ron paul for President? He voted against the Iraq war and against every tax raising bill that has ever come before him. He was also 1 of only 4 Republicans to support Reagan in the House in 1976! He was a Reagan supporter before all these current suck ups knew which way the wind was turning.

The debate reminded me of a story that was read to me as a boy:

Paul is like the little boy who shouted out that "the emperor has no clothes." This truth was very embarrassing to the emperor (Mr. Bush) and his courtiers (masquerading as the other Presidential candidates and Republican Party leaders).

Important note: while they all soundly condemned the boy for his candor and demand that he be exiled so he will not be able to speak these things again, not one of the perfumed fops on the podium with Paul was heard to praise the emperor. They are all too well aware that the populace knows the boy is right.

The ending of the story: the boy is exiled. The good news: not one of the strutting peacocks who condemned him will succeed the emperor.

Yesterday seven more American soldiers were killed in Iraq. Since I did not call them "kids" do you feel better about their deaths? Do you think their parents think of them as their children or as soldiers?

17 is not the same as 17 was in the 1950's. Stop fooling yourselves into believing many these soldiers aren't kids.
What needs to be shown is Bush patting some kid on the head sending him off to die like Hitler did with the 12 year olds towards the end of the war.
Republicans find showing kids going off to die and their flag drapped coffins coming home wrong. When the Republicans calculate progress in this war they do it with a calculator not their conscience.

Calling them soldiers shows more respect for their station and decision to serve. Besides, not all of our soldiers who die at under 20. Most adults lose their parents later in life, are they "kids" until that happens? Today's 17 year-olds are doing a lot of stuff that they weren't in the 1950s. Should we raise the minimum enlistment age? To what? 25? 30?

For combat duty yes I think they should.

I think it is impressive that Owen says Bush should show more respect for our armed forces.

Really want to end this war now?

In order to get the number of troops needed to win, reinstate the draft, but this time for both men and women 18-26 years of age and with no deferrals for anything, but life-threatening illness.

Within a week, the streets would fill with formerly apathetic Americans angrily (and rightfully) demanding an immediately end to this folly in Iraq.

So the solution is to ratchet up the level of personal sacrifice demanded to include every family in every part of society; then you would see how quickly the public would demand and get the desired end to it - one way or another.

I believe a war worth fighting would not require a draft. I have faith in the American people. My Father didn't wait for a draft in World War 2. He was on the trigger way before the word draft was even mentioned.
I know things have changed but people haven't changed much. We just need the right motivation.

The last good war worth fighting was WW2.
